Gearworks Customer Selected as 2008 Mobile and Wireless World Best Practices award finalist for "Deploying Wireless Mobility in the Enterprise"
Program honors excellence among users of mobile and wireless technology; Roto-Rooter named finalist for etrace implementation
MINNEAPOLIS — June 10, 2008 — Gearworks, a leading provider of location-based mobile business applications, today announced its customer, Roto-Rooter, was named a finalist in the 2008 “Best Practices in Mobile & Wireless” Awards Program for its implementation of Gearworks’ etrace, a powerful wireless and Web-based mobile workforce management solution.
Roto-Rooter received the honors in the “Deploying Wireless Mobility in the Enterprise” category at Computerworld’s Mobile & Wireless World Conference this week in Miami, Fla.
“We are excited to receive this very prestigious honor from Computerworld,” said Stephen Poppe, chief information officer for Roto-Rooter. “Along with truly revolutionizing how we manage our more than 1,900 technicians nationwide, the implementation of etrace has enabled our company to reduce fuel costs, improve customer response times and increase our technicians’ billable hours.”
The “Best Practices in Mobile & Wireless” Awards Program honors end-users who exhibit excellence in using and applying wireless technology. Specifically, the “Deploying Wireless Mobility in the Enterprise” award demonstrates the ability of an IT organization to map and meet a line of business challenges through top-down planning for wireless infrastructure.
“We are proud of Roto-Rooter’s accomplishments and pleased to know that they are achieving ongoing success from their etrace implementation,” said Todd Krautkremer, president and chief executive officer for Gearworks. “Roto-Rooter is a great example of how large businesses can benefit from location-based mobile business applications.”
