Rapid support of the broadest range of devices
In the highly competitive wireless marketplace, carriers must introduce new devices to market rapidly. Gearworks supports this pace with a dedicated device team that works closely with carrier and OEM device teams and a platform that provides the broadest mobile device and mobile OS support in the industry. Today, Gearworks supports BREW, J2ME, RIM/Java and Windows Mobile 5.0/6.0.
The Gearworks application can also integrate with MLP/Parlay-X Control Plane LBS systems and has experience integrating with a number of hard installed in-vehicle modems including (Genx, Trimble, Sendum, Anydata)
appmosphere™ is designed to allow easy co-existence of any number of device types. It utilizes standards based UDP and TCP/IP communication with all device types and platforms. Devices of different types and configurations can be viewed from within a consolidated web portal and integrated via integration service to back office systems.
By implementing an abstraction layer between the mobile and web application components and underlying mobile devices and OS’s, Gearworks can provide a unified portfolio of LBS mobile business applications across multiple devices, networks (e.g. CDMA vs. iDEN) and carriers.
Gearworks has developed web service and TCP/IP interoperability with User and Control plane LBS systems from most major North American wireless carriers. Gearworks can receive LBS information and other relevant data from any number of provider systems. This information can also be shared with customer back-end systems such as route optimization engines or home-grown dispatching systems.
